The 1777 Cedula of Population was a Spanish/French treaty that ushered in the arrival of white and colored french settlers to Trinidad. The whites got the choiced properties whilst the colored got the mountains and more difficult areas to cultivate. As fate would have it though, after two and a half centuries, the colored estates are still thriving, and many of the people still speak french patois.

This historic tour gives us an opportunity to explore the treacherous mountain roads by car for couples or 4 x 4 Landcruisers for groups of ten plus (10+). You can also join in the preparation of the harvest for market.
